Résuméfit First Vendor to Approach Resume from a Science and Technology Perspective
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Oct. 17, 2007 - Soft skill traits, such as how a candidate handles conflict or pressure, are among the most important elements to consider when making a hiring decision. However, soft skills are also the hardest traits to measure and accurately convey in written format.
Résuméfit is the first vendor to approach integrating the soft skills of a candidate into a resume from a science and technology standpoint. Résuméfit's comprehensive Integrated Evidentiary Resume System? (IERS?) allows candidates to embed authentic and relevant soft skill (http://resumefit.com/resumeassessments.html) testing information into their resumes. Workplace specific assessment tests (http://resumefit.com/resumescience.html) transform "soft" or subjective applicant information into a "harder", more objective, more structured form required to identify good job fit, pre-qualify applicants and direct them to the top of the appropriate resume pile.
"Resumes have become inherently untrustworthy documents, leaving employers unsure of who wrote the resume or whether the information contained is exaggerated," said Tom Schmidt, Résuméfit president and founder. "Résuméfit offers a way for candidates to stand apart from the competition, while giving employers the confidence that the assessment (http://resumefit.com/resumeassessments.html) information presented is trustworthy and accurate."
Résuméfit offers two assessments with one geared to the professional who has been in the workforce and the other geared to the specific environment of a student. Both assessments are based on Résuméfit's WorkPlace Big Five ProFile? (WorkPlace?) that measures 29 unique workplace personality dimensions and 54 workplace capacity competencies.
The WorkPlace was developed by the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies and is based on the Five-Factor Model of Personality. It assesses one's personality approach in the workplace as well as one's natural energy for comfortably performing 54 specific work-related competencies. When taking the WorkPlace, people find work-related terms and examples in the questions. The Workplace questions are compliant with standards set by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the 107 questions typically take 15 - 20 minutes to complete.
Once the assessment test is completed, the candidate then uploads their MS Word resume and Résuméfit inserts the summarized workplace assessment data, which includes specific soft skills and workplace competencies relevant to the candidate. Along with the assessment data, Résuméfit also embeds its organizational digital signature (http://resumefit.com/resumedigital.html) from VeriSign?. Résuméfit is the first company to enable portable, tamper-proof, digitally-locked assessments in a resume.
The resume is delivered to the candidate in MS Word so that the document can be easily integrated into past, present and future hiring processes. The digital signature provides proof of data integrity as well as bullet-proof document alteration detection to all reviewers.
The technology that makes digital signatures and encryption work is based on a type of cryptography that uses computer-generated pairs of numbers that have a mathematical relationship to each other. It uses the same technology that allows the secure transmission of credit card numbers when ordering online over a secure connection. When a recipient receives the document, the recipient's application program checks and can detect a valid digital signature. If the resume has been tampered with the document will not show a valid digital signature.
About Résuméfit Résuméfit is founded on integrity, innovation, a ceaseless quest to represent candidates in the most complete and scientific way possible, and to provide hiring managers the ability to reach more objective hiring decisions.
